However, we all know that bullies are a cowardly lot, and if you can handle yourself just once in front of those bullies, they will leave you alone and go pick on some other kid. So, the time to get in shape is at age 13, not age 20.

Things like kids treadmills will help get their stamina up, which might help them if they later enter things like track and field events, football or little league. Try taking them to a kids sporting goods store, and they will be the ones to tell you what they desire. The healthier you are, the more they will mock what you do.

I go to the gym three times a week and am learning to stand on my hands and balance, a thing I never could do when I'm young. If I'm that age and I can do it, then you can too, kid. Get your parents to get you some good kids fitness equipment so you can have as adventurous a life as I have had. Mine isn't faltering, either. I have a kayak which I use at Canyon Lake to go thirteen miles up the river. I go hiking and camping every weekend, still. So, you have no excuse. What a 56 year-old man can do, you can do.
